I have A Case of the Mondays- On a Tuesday
I know its Tuesday, but it’s my Monday. Having Sundays and Mondays off as a weekend has its pros and cons. My Monday being a Tuesday is definitely one of the cons. Actually, there are really more cons than pros. Working Saturdays is another negative. Really, the only positive is that stores, beaches, gyms, and any other social activity are usually far less crowded on a Monday. Being the anti-social individual that I am, that is truly a treat.
Usually, I spend a lot of time outdoors on my weekends, but it is July and Florida, and man does it feel like it! The heat is unbearable to say the least. So, this weekend, I did a few less outdoor activities than usual.
On Saturday night (after my day at work), I headed out to my favorite line dancing bar with a few of my friends and danced the night away. I hadn’t been out at night in a while, so it was nice to get back into the action.
That being said, I slept most of the day away on Sunday. (Productive, I know.)
On Sunday night, I went to a Game of Thrones viewing party….. without ever having seen as episode of Game of Thrones.
I was pretty impressed overall with the show. After arriving early for my best friend to give me an hour long, six season synopsis, I felt like I truly understood this season’s premier. I can now see what all the hype is about, and I am planning to catch up on HBO in the coming months!
Monday: A trip to the outskirts of the happiest place on Earth, and a Cupcake from a Pink ATM
Yesterday (Monday), we planned to take our fishing boat out to go bass fishing, but the heat was just too much to handle. Florida summers are really not my thing. So, instead, we headed over to check out Disney Springs. I hadn’t been there since it had been redone, so I was completely surprised to walk into a chic, modern, shopping center, as opposed to a strip of Walt Disney World themed stores and a giant dragon composed of legos.
While we were there, Charlie took me to Alex and Ani to get me the limited edition Stingray set that I have been wanting. Usually, Charlie isn’t really into paying a lot of money for materialistic things, but this set was special to me, because my first big salt water catch was….. you guessed it, a stingray! If you ask most salt water fishermen, they will tell you that a stingray is a “trash fish”, since they are not considered a game fish and you can’t really eat them, but I love catching them! They are super fun to catch because they put up a really great fight! Not to mention, they are just generally a really pretty fish!
On our way out, we stopped at Sprinkles’ Cupcake ATM.
Yes, you read that right- an ATM that dispenses baked goods. Fun fact- My sister and her best friend actually drove several hours to Georgia to visit a Sprinkles Cupcake ATM, only to find out that one was opening here in Central Florida a few short months later. I had heard a lot of amazing things about these cupcakes, and I had to see if these little delights lived up to their names.
Spoiler alert: They did.
It was one of the best cupcakes I have ever had. If you are ever in the Orlando area, it is definitely worth the stop!
Only four more days now until my stay-cation! Any suggestions for what to do with myself next week?
What did you guys do this weekend?
Until Next Time,
